Envisâge co-founders, Alexandre and Kat, had the opportunity to chat with Ana Gavassa, Senior Instructor of Graphic Design at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Ana has decades of experience in graphic design and teaching, and recently has become a grandmother.
With her family spanning four continents, Ana tells us about her experiences of entering grandmotherhood and of microaggressions targeting her identity as a womxn in midlife.
“We can knit, we can crochet, but we can be somebody with goals, dreams, passions. We can still work, but we still can be grandmothers.” - Ana Gavassa
It was truly a pleasure to listen to Ana’s story and learn how we can challenge our own perceptions of grandmothers.
Thank you, Ana!
